Akademicheskiy prud
Bolshoy Sadovy (or Academic) pond is located in the north of Moscow in the park of the Agricultural Academy. It was created in the middle of the 18th century on the territory of Petrovsko-Razumovskoe estate with an area of 19 hectares. Water supply mainly comes from the Khimki reservoir. The shores are reinforced with concrete slabs. There is a sandy beach and boat station and it's used for swimming and boating. Rental boats and catamarans are available. The "Science" stadium is near the pond.
Angarskiy prud
Angara ponds are the park, which is located in the Northern Administrative District of Moscow. It covers an area of 38 hectares. Linden, ash, oak, birch, poplar, maple, chestnut, rowan, willow, pear, arborvitae, and elm trees are growing in the park. A large part of the park is planted with apple trees of different species. 320 meters larch alley is located here. The park is home to rooks, ducks, gulls, sparrows, doves, and nightingales. This park also has a children's equestrian centre, rides, children's and sport's grounds, cafes, bicycle path, velodrome, fountain, boat station on the Grand Angara pond, ski track (in winter).
Altufevskey prud
The area of the park is 4.0 hectares. It is named after the Altufievo area (a former village, known since 1584). The shores of the pond are reinforced with concrete slabs. Fish like sunbleak and sometimes carp can be found in it. There is an orchard closer to the pond (with a lot of apple and plum trees, and raspberry canes, founded in 1767) and a linden copse. "Old trees in Altufievo manor" is the name of the natural monument that is located in the territory of the park
Babyshkinski park
The park has an area of 13 hectares.
Dzhamgarovsky (Babushkinsky) pond was founded on the site of the sandpit in the 1920s as a result of the construction of a dam on the river. The works on cleaning the pond, strengthening its shores, and improvement of the embankment been done.
There is a beach on the northern shore. It is a nice relaxing place that has long been famous with nightingales that are nesting in the coastal bush. The pond is visited by gulls, terns, and other shorebirds. It is inhabited by several species of fish including bullhead, roach, perch, crucian carp, tench, bream, and pike. One of the few gulls colonies in Moscow lives around the pond.
BIrulevskey dendropark
Biryulevsky arboretum is a unique natural area in the south of Moscow district East Biryulyovo. There are about 250 species of rare trees and shrubs on the site of 135 hectares, by the number of species of plants the arboretum is the second after the Botanical garden. Many straight alleys are good at any time of the year. The most beautiful are shaded spruce alley, mysterious chestnut alley, a lilac alley that blooms in spring, bright rowanberry and maple in autumn alleys, light birch alley. The territory of the park has also several ponds.
Bitzevskiy Les
Natural-historical park "Bitsa forest" is a protected natural area, the second-largest park in Moscow (2208.4 hectares). This park is rich in historical and archaeological monuments, which are primarily Vyatichi mounds from the 11th-12th centuries, palaces and parks of manors from the 18th-19th centuries, which form a single natural and historical-cultural complex with the park. There are also several ponds in the park.
Botanicheski sad
The botanical garden is the largest botanical garden in Europe, has a rich collection of plants representing a varied flora of almost all continents and climate zones of the world. On an area of 30 hectares, there are six botanical and geographic exposures, "the European part of Russia", "Caucasus", "Central Asia", "Siberia", "Far East", and "Useful plants of the natural flora" created.
Botanicheski sad MGU
The botanical garden of MSU is the oldest scientific botanical institution in Russia. It was founded in 1706 for the cultivation of medicinal plants. The collection of the arboretum has more than 1,000 species and forms of wood plants.
A collection of herbaceous plants of the natural flora of Russia contains about 2000 species. In the fruit garden, the best domestic and foreign varieties of fruit and berry plants are grown, some bred by garden employees.
There is a collection of tropical and subtropical plants are exhibited in greenhouses.
Vorobevie Gory
Vorobiyovy gory is one of the most beautiful places in Moscow. The high right bank of the Moskva River at all times has been attracting attention with its thick forest, complex terrain, and wonderful views over the river. Vorobiyovy gory offers the most extensive and picturesque panorama of the capital. There are two embankments of Moskva river as part of the Vorobiyovy gory: Vorobiyovskaya and Andreevskaya, both are used for biking, rollerblading, skateboarding, and hiking.
Voronzovskiy park
Natural history, architecture and recreational complex "Vorontsovsky park" is a recreational and green area in the South-West of Moscow. These days it is a park area with beautiful oak and birch alleys. Buildings of 18th-19th centuries have been restored. This park is a monument of landscape art of the end of the 18th-19th centuries with an area of about 48.7 hectares. In the regular part of the park, some unique examples of old-growth trees remained - oak, elm, and linden.
